PREAMBLE

This is short chronological, far from being complete, information on an American period of life of Alexander Zhdanov (birth date: 1938), a Russian professional painter, who has been deported from the former Soviet Union.

Two sections represent the materials:

  1. Part I. True Art
  2. An artistic image of the artists in the United States since the year 1988. This is more than eighty prestigious exhibitions and articles about him and his creative work.

  3. Part II. "Picturegate"
  4. His political image in the United States. "Picturegate" - artist's intellectual property fate of the Soviet period of his life and a copy right protection of 1500 pieces of his artwork which have been turned in to American diplomats in Moscow and to State Department officials in Washington, D.C.

Half of the 1500 artworks are now in the United States; second half is in Russia and in some other countries (Yugoslavia, Canada, Germany, France, England).

American side, including President and State Department officials, guilty of the artist's moral damage, is silent of the damage compensation, thus ignoring their own laws.
